Four well-known, internationally renowned Latvian photographers will present their work and professional viewpoints. Andrejs Grants (1955) is a master of black and white documentary photography, highly respected among his colleagues. Most of the notable photographers of recent generations have studied under him at his studio. Ieva Epnere’s (1977) photo and video works fit naturally into the contemporary art environment, and are based in a deep, sustained interest in the human. Iveta Vaivode (1979) has cultivated her own original style as a fashion photographer, and is making her name with poetic art photography series. Alnis Stakle (1975) works in various genres, freely using diverse forms of photographic expression. His usual themes – private close-ups caught from a distance and alien landscapes - encourage a search for meaning in the everyday.
