The SELF PUBLISH RIGA series of events will introduce the concept of photobook self-publishing, currently gaining attention in the art world.

From May 9 – 11 there will be an exhibition of books and book dummies submitted to the contest, as well as photobook collections from Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, etc. Alongside the exhibition, public talks on self-publishing, bookmaking and design will be held by Marcus Schaden, curator, lecturer and founder of the Schaden publishing house; book designers Teun van der Heijden (The Netherlands) and Ania Nalecka (Poland); founder of The Photobook Club and Coventry University lecturer Matt Johnston (UK); bookmaking expert Nico Baumgarten (Germany); independent publishers Lugemik (Estonia); artist and curator Paul Paper (Lithuania) and more.

Exhibition opening: May 9, 7PM. The exhibition will be open all day on the weekend of May 10 - 11. Closing event and award ceremony – May 11, 6PM.
